Peugeot 1007

The Peugeot 1007 has attracted plenty of attention. The car offers some unique and attractive features. The 1007 will definitely be able to compete within its sector. One of the most intriguing features is its sliding electric side doors. You can even drive with them open, which might be illegal, but was the way newspapers used to get delivered to news stands. But that’s not the point of the 1007. It’s to offer something new that people will see in action and smile at, and then want one. Despite the fact that the 1007 is only a four-seater the car offers many MPV-style benefits.

Currently the Peugeot 1007 is available with a choice of three petrol engines and one diesel. The petrol line up comprises of a 1.4 litre 8v, 1.4 litre 16v and a 1.6 litre 16v, the diesel is a 1.4 HDi. The 1.6 petrol is only available with a 2-Tronic electronically controlled manual gearbox, with has both manual and automatic driving modes. The 1.4 litre 8v can also be specified with the 2-Tronic gearbox otherwise it is a 5-speed manual.

The cars interior is customizable to suit individual tastes, and the car enjoys a generous standard level of specification. The 1007 has a higher initial purchase price than most of its competitors, but also comes with a higher level of standard specification than most of its rivals. All round visibility is pretty good, the steering wheel can be adjusted for rake and reach and the driver’s seat is height adjustable which makes it easy to get into a comfortable driving position. The controls and dials aren’t fancy or complicated, but they are functional and they all do what you would expect them to. The displays are large and easy to read, and the car comes with the ability to customize cabin colours for a touch of fun.

You are not going to fit a lot in the boot; but there is a hard load cover to protect your luggage from prying eyes. The two rear seats will fold forward to provide a useful load area of 628 litres to the parcel shelf height, a gain of just over 300 litres from keeping the seats/parcel shelf in place. The passenger seat can be folded flat to act as table, perfect for your laptop or lunch. There are also a number of useful storage cubby holes throughout the car. The Peugeot 1007 is a very easy car to live with and to drive. If you have any reservations then take one for a test drive we think you will be impressed
