The Distinctive Ford Fusion

The 2006 Fusion range offer many features usually only found on larger cars. These include rain sensing wipers, automatic 'home safe' headlamp mode, air conditioning with automatic electronic temperature control, satellite navigation, on-board computer, one-touch-down driver's door window, power folding heated door mirrors , MP3-compatible stereo systems and voice-controlled hands-free phone connection. Although having a slightly boxy appearance the Fusion is elegant. It is taller than most saloon/hatch back type vehicles and stands out from the crowd.
It is easy to find in the car park if like me you can’t always remember exactly where you left it. One of the first things you notice driving the car is the high seating position, which gives a commanding view of the road ahead, and there is a wonderful sense of airiness about the cabin. As well as offering the usual split/fold rear seats, the Fusion also allows the front passenger seat and the rear seats to fold flat. Even with the seats in an upright position, the boot is impressive with a standard luggage volume of some 337 litres. Should you need to slide an awkward load out from the rear, Ford has thoughtfully designed the Fusion with no rear loading lip. The elevated seating position also allows for extra stowage space under the passenger seats, whilst the fascia features a flip-top bin like the Galaxy whilst the main instruments are housed in a neat oval binnacle.Fusion drivers have a choice of four engines, two advanced common rail turbo diesel and two zesty petrol engines. The new 90ps Duratorq 1.6L TDCi engine joins the existing 68PS 1.4 litre eight valve Duratorq turbo diesel and drives the Fiesta and Fusion into an important and fast growing area of the small diesel market.
With more than a dozen combinations on Fusion, customers can create an original and distinctive new car.
