Since its launch in 2001, the Trafic has continued to be one of the best-selling light commercial vehicles in Europe, due in no small part to its great combination of comprehensive equipment, driving pleasure, innovative styling and keen pricing. With its strong, expressive appearance, the Trafic suggests dynamic strength and marks a break with the conventional approach to LCV design. It echoes other vehicles from the Renault range with extra-large headlamp housings, vertical rear lamp clusters and pronounced wheel arches. Modern and daring with a plunging nose and taut lines, the Trafic conveys a feeling of safety with wrap-around side protection mouldings and a solid bumper, while taking into account the needs of professional users with its ease of repair and low running costs. Access to the driving position, whose ergonomics were studied with particular care to provide both space and efficiency, is made easier by the hump-roofed cabin - known as the "Jumbo effect" - which does not affect the overall height of the vehicle. Designed for the professional operator, the short wheelbase version offers a load volume of 5m3 and load space dimensions of 2.41m length, 1.38m height and 1.9m width with a payload of 1024Kg. The long wheelbase version, offers a load volume of 5.9m3 and an additional 40cm of load length with a payload of 1212Kg. Special attention has been paid to vehicle security with locks and steering column designed to resist tampering, while the spare wheel is secured by a coded latch. With the addition of an engine immobiliser as standard equipment and anti-intrusion alarm, the New Trafic provides class-leading security for its operators.
