The Berlingo’s cab provides the driver with a safe, comfortable and convenient working environment. The high driving position and large doors make getting in and out far easier for the driver an important consideration in multi-drop operations. The folding passenger seat in LX and Enterprise models folds down to provide a working area with elastic strap to hold paperwork and the inside includes cup holders with two by the gear stick and one by the handbrake. All models apart from base 600D X, have electric windows and mirrors, remote central looking, radio/cassette, and intelligent locks that automatically lock you in at 6mph. The variety and diversity of the different Berlingo models on offer puts much of the competition in the shade. For the ultimate Berlingo look no further than the Enterprise model here CV buyers get ABS brakes, EBD and a CD player as well as all the standard stuff.
The load space is well shaped and there is enough room between the wheel arches to take a standard pallet plus additional room front and rear for additional items. The doors open to 180 degrees to allow easy access with a forklift. The load length is 1.7m which is extendible to 2.1m in the LX and Enterprise models by folding the muti-function passenger seat and is 1.6m maximum width. Load compartment equipment includes load securing eyes, interior load area lighting and a ladder frame bulkhead behind the driver.
The new Berlingo range will strengthen Citroen’s position in the light van sector combined with the key benefits of improved fuel efficiency, driveability and performance, coupled with lower emissions. Price-wise the Berlingo remains on a par with or slightly cheaper than the rest of the top contenders in the light van sector.
